I remember having a job and thinking, I not right person for this job. That was cooking for a nursing home. Somehow through different chain of events, I end up in the kitchen cooking for about 20 residents. One thing I remember was having a binder full of what to cook. It was organized by month. I just had to go in and follow directions. So easy, until I had to cook mushroom soup:) Note: You can bake soup and not burn it! I believe with every struggle you learn just as much as what you would learn from your successes. My goal this year has been being organizing. One struggle my husband and I seem to be having is What's for dinner. Then I thought... a monthly menu calendar like one I use at the nursing home or the one like my daughter bring home each month for school. It takes the guess work out of, what should I make. Who every get home first will know what to start. I have a love hate relationship when it comes to cooking. I am not terrible but I not good. My mother has the cooking gene and I believe my 3 sisters have got most of that gene. I do try but usually stick to what I am comfortable with and I know my family will eat. But this summer, I am being a little more adventurous. My goal is to try at least ONE new recipe a week. It's week 2 and I doing pretty good. Even excited to cook, which is a hard thing to do sometimes. Menu Board Slow Cooker Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches Crispy Cheddar Chicken Slow Cooker Pineapple Chicken Chicken Ranch Quesadillas / Tac0 Bites Ham & Cheese Sliders Dessert Board Trifle in a jar Cheesecake-stuffed Strawberries Anything sound yummy.... if you have any good summer recipe please share!
